LED SLABS

All about LED tiles.

Do you know the characteristics of LED tiles?
How and where do they settle?
What are the different dimensions available?
And what are their benefits and prices?
We explain everything there is to know about LED tiles.
LED SLABS

Operation of an LED panel.

An LED panel operates with a light source, consisting of light-emitting diodes, and the use of PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) as a transmitter and light diffuser. It is also called the latter methacrylate, but it is better known as Plexiglas.

There are two types of LED tiles:

1.     The first category with radial illumination: the LEDs are placed on the inner edge of the slab and illuminate a reflecting surface and the Plexiglas which distributes the light obtained.

2.     A second category with direct lighting: The LEDs are placed on the bottom of the luminaire and simply illuminate the Plexiglas which still holds the role of the light diffuser. In both cases, the effect obtained is the same but the first category, because of its layout, makes slabs much thinner than the second category. Finally, an LED panel is always composed of a finishing frame, aluminum or plastic, and of course a power supply.

Dimensions and installation of a LED panel.

LED tiles can be made to measure and therefore have a multitude of dimensions.
However, there are three standard sizes:
·        300 x 300 mm led panel
·        600 x 600 mm led slab
·        300 x 1200 mm led panel
·        600 x 1200 mm led slab
Depending on the context in which they are used, and the type of LED panel chosen, they may be installed differently.
In a professional context, we will appreciate much more the embedded slabs. Especially since the 600x600 mm tiles have the same dimensions as the old fluorescent ceiling tiles.
It is also possible to position the projecting slabs directly attached to the ceiling support, or to install them suspended.
Although LED tiles are very often used in an industrial context or more generally professional, they also find their place in the interior of individuals. Indeed, they quickly give a modern look and design inside a house or an apartment.

The advantages of LED tiles.

·        Energy saving: The use of LEDs often results in energy savings of 50 to 85%, compared to older technologies, while offering more power.
·        Longevity: LED tiles have a lifespan of 30,000 hours to 50,000 hours. That's a lot when you think it's 10 times more than a halogen bulb.
·        Comfort and aesthetics: In addition to bringing a real cachet design, the LED tiles provide a soft light without flickering unpleasant to the eye. They are therefore as relaxing for the employees of a company as for a family at home.
·        Variations of colors and shades: For some models of slabs, the LED technology makes it possible to vary the intensity of the light. In the same way, we can also decide the color temperature: orange, white or bluish light.

Rates of led slabs.

The price of a LED panel depends on several factors: power, design, dimensions. The price will also be higher if you choose a custom-made model. We can still say that in the category of LED standard tiles, we can find products between 20 and 160 euros.
